Dr. Albert CarlottiPlastic Surgeon
Dr. Albert Carlotti is a second generation surgeon. Since the age of 14 he wanted to become a craniofacial surgeon to perform complex facial reconstructive surgery. He earned his BA from the University of Vermont, Doctorate of Dental Surgery in Baltimore, Maryland and then attended UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX earning his Medial Degree in 1998. While at Parkland Hospital, Dr. Carlotti completed his residency training in Maxillofacial Surgery and then completed a one year fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Carlotti currently specializes in all forms of facial & body Cosmetic Surgery, Orthognathic (Jaw Surgery) and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Michelle Carlotti and he met in medical school and they had their first daughter in Dallas. The couple then moved with their young daughter to Scottsdale, Arizona where they opened The Carlotti Center in 2002. In the last 16 years they have treated over 28,000 patients performing full scope cosmetic, reconstructive and maxillofacial surgery as a team. Together, they make each other better as they provide both a male and female perspective. This permits shorter, more efficient and safe operating times and allows four hands and eyes to optimize results. Dr. Carlotti has been on faculty at AT Still University for over 5 years where he teaches residents how to diagnose and treat complex facial deformities. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and is Past-President of the Board of Directors of the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation. Dr. Carlotti has lectured numerous times on the International level on facial and body cosmetic surgery. Drs. Carlotti moved back to Texas in early 2016 in preparation for opening their brand new facility, Austin Cosmetic Surgery, in Lakeway, TX. This facility will be a State-Licensed Ambulatory Surgical center which will meet all the same requirements as any hospital in the nation. The goal is to perform their procedures in a facility that focuses on patient safety. Drs. Carlotti are privileged at Baylor Scott & White Hospital which sits just behind their new Austin facility as well as at Northstar Surgical Center and Scottsdale Liberty Hospital in Arizona. Their lives are busy as they serve both practices in both Arizona and Texas. As they are over-achievers, their main focus its on their two daughters who go to school at Lake Travis Middle School and Lake Travis High school in Lakeway, TX. Dr. Carlotti is a fitness addict and in addition to completing on the National Stage as a Men’s Physique competitor 7 times, he holds a National & World Record in powerlifting in the United States Powerlifting Association and the International Powerlifting League.

For a variety of reasons, breast tissue may lose its tone and volume leading to saggy (ptotic) tissue. The causes can be genetic, weight gain, weight loss, post-pregnancy or simply age-related changes. The breast tissue that remains typically overhangs the inframammary crease (the fold underneath the breast), the nipple may point downwards, the areolar tissues may expand and youthful firmness of breast tissue may soften due to changes in the Cooper’s ligaments, or the scaffolding to breast tissue. Many patients complain of back and neck pain as they attempt to use tight-fitting bras to help elevate the breast tissue back onto the chest. Additionally, they find many restrictions in their ability to wear certain clothes such as low neckline dresses, bathing suits, tube tops and backless dresses as it can be impossible to find a concealing bra to support themselves to wear underneath. Following pregnancy and breastfeeding, there is also a significant amount of atrophy of the breast tissue above the nipple such that breast lift alone may not restore the patient to their desired youthful, full, perky positioning of their breasts. Therefore it is common to simultaneously place breast implants to restore the volume of the lost breast tissue in conjunction with a breast lift. When a woman contemplates the decision to undergo a breast lift, their primary concern is the potential for undesirable scarring. The goal of all forms of Cosmetic Surgery is to provide patients with a non-operated looking result and to conceal scars in such a fashion that it can be virtually noticeable. With breast lifting or Mastopexy, this can be reasonably accomplished in experienced hands and with a compliant patient who lacks the genetic predisposition for hypertrophic (thickened) scarring or keloiding (forming very large bulky scars).
