  • Nancy Langer

    Chief Executive Officer

    Nancy Langer was named chief executive at Transact Campus Inc. in July 2021 to lead, “our next phase of excellence,” as the 35-year veteran in financial technology put it. Transact was already a trusted technology solution for higher education, but with the potential to become even more integrated in the university ecosystem. She is a transformative and growth-driven executive with more than 35 years of expertise in the financial technology arena. In 2018 and 2019, she was named a Top 50 Women of Influence by Housing Wire Magazine. And prior to that, was named a Woman Executive of the Year for corporations larger than 2,500 employees by the Stevie Awards in both 2015 and 2016.     - Jill Clark, is the vice president, Global Human Resources at Phoenix-based Transact. Transact’s mission is to create compelling technology that uniquely simplifies campus operations and makes a meaningful difference in students’ lives. Jill is responsible for leading all areas of human resources building much from the ground up as a spinoff from their former owner Blackboard. Prior to Transact, Jill owned her own consulting company, IdeasYou and prior led talent development for JDA Software, now BlueYonder for nearly 16 years focused on the areas of associate and leadership development, succession planning, performance excellence and diversity and inclusion. Jill has nearly 30 years of HR experience holding roles in all areas of human resources and has worked in industries spanning staffing agency to medical, call center, education, and now technology for close to 20. Jill graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wichita State University and is a certified coach through Columbia’s Coaching Certification program. On a personal note, Jill is married, has three children and is active in her church, and serves on the Board of Directors for Herberger Theatre Company located in downtown Phoenix.

    VP, Inclusion, Diversity & Engagement

    - Mechelle King is a Vice President of Inclusion, Diversity and Engagement at Transact with 30 years of in-depth knowledge, progressive experience leading and developing strategic HR organizations/ teams and DEI initiatives. She is responsible for developing and driving Transact’s DEI strategies relative to internal policies/practices to build a culture of inclusivity and partnership opportunities across the business that will foster impactful client outreach and engagement programs. Most recently, Mechelle worked at Caliber Home Loans as a vice president, human resources for their production sales team where she helped to build and drive strategic objectives and DEI initiatives for their distribution teams and field sales organization for over 3000 employees. Prior to joining Caliber, Mechelle worked at CoreLogic, Inc. as a sr. principal/ director where she was a strategic thought leader/ partner to the Real Estate and Tax Payment Solutions business that included leading HR support for their Digital Transformation 2020 initiative. She also served on the Steering Committee for CoreLogic’s LeaP Program, a leadership pipeline program for transitioning Junior Military Officers, and developed engagement with the Dallas Year Up diversity youth pipeline program at both Caliber and CoreLogic. Mechelle’s experience began in financial services with Bank of America and EMC Mortgage and has evolved to include leadership roles supporting high volume call centers, processing operations and client servicing groups within the Prescription Benefit Management/ Healthcare industry. She received her Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of North Texas and her Master of Arts in Management from Dallas Baptist University. Mechelle holds two professional designations – Senior Professional in Human Resources and SHRM – Senior Certified Professional. She was a graduate of CoreLogic’s Women in Leadership cohort, an executive leadership development program.

    Chief Legal Officer

    - Dean Newton is Transact’s Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel, where he is responsible for the company’s legal strategy, including M&A and regulatory compliance, as well as the company’s contracting, HR and DEI functions. He also serves on the Board of Nashville-based Relevance Ventures. Prior to joining Transact, Dean served as AGC for Blackboard Inc., with responsibility for its Blackboard Campus Enablement, Fintech and security business units as well as its Community Engagement SaaS platforms. Previously, Dean was Chief Operating Officer of Emotive Communications, a company he co-founded in 2006 to enable the peer-to-peer distribution of media through mobile devices. Dean also served as General Counsel at Moviso, the first and largest ringtone company in North America, where he authored the first licensing structures that brought music to mobile phones, and lead the company through its acquisition by InfoSpace Inc. He is a music and technology attorney by training, having worked at Gang, Tyre, Ramer & Brown in Beverly Hills, California, where his practice included representing recording artists and media companies in entertainment-related transactions. He began his career in corporate practice with Los Angeles-based firm Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher LLP. Dean is a graduate of Harvard University, where he received both B.A. and J.D. degrees. Dean is a member of the Patawomeck Indian Tribe, and serves on the Boards of a number of interesting companies and organizations.
